100 Percent Of Seniors At Chicago School Admitted To College For 7th Year In A Row

For the seventh consecutive year, City Prep Charter Academy is maintaining it one hundred.  

Every senior on the predominantly black, all-boys charter college in Chicago has committed to the four-year college or university. At the school’s 3 campuses combined, the class associated with 2016 has been admitted to over 220 schools.  

“It’s a great time, ” Rudolph Long, who’ s i9000 attending Hampton University, told CBS Chi town on Urban Prep’s college signing day on Wednesday. “I feel great. We all managed to get. We all come from good environments to see us all going to college   is usually nice. ”

Overall, the senior course has received more than 1, five hundred college admissions and has been provided more than $15 million in grants, according to CBS Chicago. Founder plus CEO of Urban Prep Bernard King said the students are already admitted to schools all over the country, which includes Georgetown University, Yale University, Morehouse College, among other schools. California king tweeted a photo of some of the elderly people at signing day.

Since the year 2010, every senior class has had 100 percent of the students admitted to school, the school’s website says. The particular school’s motto is “We Think, ” which serves as a tip “that Urban Prep students is not going to fall into the trap of unfavorable stereotypes and low expectations, inch the school’s website says.

“Every calendar year, I’ m just wowed simply by these young men, by what they are carrying out, ” King told CBS Chi town. “We started Urban Prep with all the goal of relocating   the hook when it comes to black male achievement that guys proved to me, the city as well as the world every year, that we did the suitable thing when we founded Urban Preparation ten years ago. ”
