74-year-old man walks for miles in search of kidney donor for wife

A 74-year-old man has taken to the streets inside a desperate search to find a kidney subscriber for his wife. Every day, David Winters puts on a sandwich table advertisement and walks for kilometers near his Farr West, Ut home.

“ I don’ to walk real fast, ” he informed Fox 13 Now.

Winters stated he came up with the idea after their wife, Deanne, was diagnosed with phase 5 kidney failure and he has been at a loss of how to help.

“ I didn’ t know what to do, ” he informed the news outlet. “ I felt like I needed to make a move. ”  


This individual saw a similar story on the news in regards to a man in search of an organ subscriber for his wife, and produced his own sign before heading out. Absolutely nothing that rush hour is their favorite time to walk, Winters stated that on his first day, a motorist stopped to tell him he would obtain tested to see if he was obviously a match.

“ I say ‘ Deanne, I think we have a good chance of obtaining you a kidney, ’ ” they would e informed Fox 13 Now.

But till it’ s confirmed, Winters mentioned he’ ll keep walking together with his sign. One side of their board brings attention to his wife’ s case, but the reverse part notes the thousands of others who have could benefit from organ donation.

“ Once i get a kidney I will have my spouse back the way she was, regular, helping people, loving people, ” Winters told Fox 13 Now. “ She likes to assist other people. ”
