Actor Alan Rickman dies aged 69 – BBC News

Actor Alan Rickman, reputed for films including Harry Potter, Pass away Hard, Truly Madly Deeply plus Robin Hood: Prince of Robbers, has died at the age of 69.
The star was struggling with cancer, his family said.
He became certainly one of Britain’s best-loved acting stars because of roles including Professor Snape within the Harry Potter films and Hans Gruber in Die Hard.
He also won the Bafta for playing the Sheriff of Nottingham in 1991’s Robin the boy wonder Hood: Prince of Thieves.
A family statement said: “The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer when justin was 69. He was surrounded simply by family and friends. ”

Other film credits included 1995’s Sense and Sensibility and Erina Collins the following year, both which earned him Bafta nominations.
