Amazon removes magnetic putty from sale

Amazon has removed the children’s toy from its website more than fears it contains dangerously high degrees of arsenic.

It comes right after testing of a product labelled “Magnetic Putty” found it contained 7 times the permitted amount of the particular poison.

Northamptonshire Investing Standards barred it from sale on Wednesday after finding it on a market stall. Amazon . com has now also removed it.

It is not known the number of people bought the putty.

Northamptonshire Trading Standards said just one product had been banned, not all permanent magnet putties.

“The information would be for people to stop using it and so they can contact the Citizens Assistance Consumer Service, ” it stated.

It added some other brands would be examined.
