“ Star Trek: Discovery” and “ Rent” actor Anthony Rapp mentioned in a report Sunday night which he was 14 years old when acting professional Kevin Spacey made a intimate advance toward him, the latest in the wave of sexual abuse claims across Hollywood.
Rapp told Buzzfeed News that in 1986, Spacey, a fellow Broadway actor during the time, invited Rapp to his residence for a party. Later in the evening, Spacey, then 26, allegedly “ selected Rapp up, placed him in the bed, and climbed on top associated with him, making a sexual advance, ” according to the report.
“ He was aiming to seduce me, ” Rapp remembered. “ I don’ t understand if I would have used that vocabulary. But I was aware that he has been trying to get with me sexually. ”
Rapp recalled he pushed Spacey from him, went to a bathroom and shut the door, thinking: “ What is happening? ” He told Spacey he had to look home, to which he allegedly inquired if he was “ sure” he wanted to do that.
A representative for Spacey did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
“ I still even today can’ t wrap my head about so many aspects of it, ” Rapp told Buzzfeed. “ It’ s i9000 just deeply confusing to me. ”
Rapp, who came forward less than a 30 days after accusations against mega-producer Harvey Weinstein led to his Hollywood problem, said he decided to speak away “ not to simply air the grievance … but to try to sparkle another light on the decades associated with behavior that have been allowed to continue mainly because many people, including myself, being quiet. ”
He added: “ I am just feeling really awake to the moment that will we’re living in, and I’m positive that this can make a difference. ”
