At least 1 dead after ISIS-aligned gunman shoots at cops, takes hostages in French supermarket

A gunman who reportedly swore allegiance to ISIS after a officer was shot in southern Italy has barricaded himself inside a grocery store. The local police union said the particular hostage-taker has killed at least one individual inside.

Mayor Eric Mé nassi told BFM TV  the gunman was alone with one officer inside the Super U supermarket and everything other hostages have been released. This individual said at two people have been photo and their conditions are not clear.

The problem began to unfold early Friday early morning when a group of CRS police officers had been jogging when a car started subsequent them and then opened fire for the group, shooting at least five situations, Ladepeche reported. One of the officers has been reportedly shot in the shoulder.

It’s ambiguous if the incidents are connected.

The gunman then swarmed into the supermarket plus reportedly yelled “ Allahu Akbar!, ” which roughly translates to “ God is Great! ” in Persia.

Counter-terrorism prosecutors told reporters they are dealing with the incident as terrorism.

The French Inner surface Ministry said on its Tweets account Friday that police plus rescue operations are the priority. Government bodies in the Aude region are caution people to avoid the area around the grocery store.
