Award-winning filmmaker Carlos Carvalho dies after giraffe head-butts him

An award winning South African filmmaker died Wed after he was head-butted with a giraffe.

Carlos Carvalho, 47, had been at the Glen Africa Country Villa in South Africa shooting a series in regards to a British family in a game hotel when he attempted to get a close-up shot of Gerald, the giraffe, Deadline day reported.

While Carvalho has been trying to get his shot, Gerald head-butted the filmmaker and sent your pet 16 feet in the air. Carvalho experienced massive head injuries as a result. The particular filmmaker was airlifted to Johannesburg’ s Milpark Hospital where he passed away.

Carvalho’ ersus film crew agency, CallaCrew, introduced the filmmaker’ s death upon its Facebook page.

“ It is using a very sad heart that we have in order to announce the passing of Carlos Carvalho‚ one of our favorite DOP’ t. Carlos was filming a feature on Glen Afric and had a deadly run-in with a giraffe on established. He was flown to Milpark Hospital but succumbed to his accidents 20: 50 last night. Our ideas and condolences go out to Carlo’ s family and friends during this very depressing time.   He will be sorely missed, ” the film team agency.

Deadline. possuindo said Carvalho won the Sterling silver Lion at the Cannes Film Celebration in 2003 for a public support announcement for “Childline. ”  This individual was also honored  in 2014 by having an African Movie Academy Cinematography Prize for his work on “The Neglected Kingdom. ”

Richard Booker, whose loved ones owns the lodge, told The Telegraph that Gerald may not be put down.

“Gerald will remain at the hotel. He did nothing wrong, ” Booker said.
