Benefits of coffee outweigh risks, says study

Reasonable coffee drinking is safe, and 3 to 4 cups a day may have some health advantages, according to a large review of studies, within the BMJ.

It discovered a lower risk of liver illness and some cancers in coffee consumers, and a lower risk of perishing from stroke – but scientists could not prove coffee was the trigger.

Too much coffee while pregnant could be harmful, the review verified.

Experts said individuals should not start drinking coffee meant for health reasons.

The particular University of Southampton researchers gathered data on the impact of espresso on all aspects of the human body, considering more than 200 studies – the majority of which were observational.
