Celebrity chef Carluccio dies at 80

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Antonio Carluccio has died at the age of eighty, his agent has said.

He was known for the Italian language restaurant chain that carries their surname and for appearing on TV programs, including the BBC Two hit 2 Greedy Italians, alongside chef Gennaro Contaldo.

He had written more than a dozen best-selling books and 2012 launched his memoirs.

The restaurant chain provides called him the “Godfather associated with Italian cooking” and said he can be “greatly missed”.

“It isn’t just Antonio’s name over our doors, but his life blood lives and breathes throughout the restaurants, ” a statement from your Carluccio’s restaurant chain said.

Carluccio co-founded the high road restaurant chain Carluccio’s in 1999.

In the north-west Italian region of Piedmont, Carluccio worked as a journalist within Turin before moving to Vienna and Germany, and finally London.

In 2016, Carluccio informed the Press Association about their secret to a happy life.

“My philosophy is to be content and to make people happy, inch he said.
