If you’re going to promise a mozzarella cheese festival, the one thing you really need is parmesan cheese.
But organisers of the event in Brighton are now providing refunds after running out of the stinky stuff.
They’ve been already been hit with complaints on social networking, with people calling it a “shambles” – with one simply stating “hmmm, was expecting more cheese”.
The weather is being held responsible for some traders being unable to reach the site.
The Big Mozzarella cheese Festival had promised “a variety of the finest international cheesemakers plus mongers showcasing their amazing cheeses”.
But for some of those exactly who paid £ 22 to get within, there simply weren’t enough of these mongers.
Others received parallels with KFC’s recent troubles when they ran out of chicken.
As well as the cheese, organisers invited guests “to enjoy plus indulge in our range of bars providing craft beers, liquor and wines, plus live comedy, local rings & cheesy DJ’s performing an array of jazz, funk & R in Brie”.
But the weather conditions meant some artists and investors couldn’t get to the site on Hove Lawns.
“Sadly because of this, a few compromises had to be made and are disappointed that a larger selection of cheese wasn’t available, ” stated the organisers.
Following the complaints, The Big Cheese Event has put out a statement upon its Facebook page saying that it is “just as disappointed as her that the event was disrupted by adverse weather conditions”.
Organisers say they’re now providing a 50% discount to following year’s event for everyone who purchased a ticket.
