Comey Hits Trump Where It Hurts: ‘I’m Like The Breakup He Can’t Get Over’

Former FBI Director James Comey told  “ Late Show” sponsor Stephen Colbert   that President Donald Trump just can’ t give up him.

“ He’ s messaged at me probably 50 occasions, ” Comey said on Tuesday’ s program. “ I’ ve been gone for a year. I’ m like the breakup he can’ t get over. ”

Trump assaulted Comey on Twitter repeatedly a week ago, calling him an “ untruthful slime ball ” and a “ proven LEAKER & LIAR” ahead of the release from the former FBI director’ s guide,   A Higher Loyalty: Reality, Lies, and Leadership.

“ I’ m out there living our best life. He wakes up each morning and tweets at me, ” Comey cracked.

Comey also said there were things this individual knows about the Russia investigation the fact that public doesn’ t, but he or she can’ t speak about them. Visitors won’ t find those information in the book either,   which was examined by the FBI.

“ It’ s not in the book and I can’ t talk about it, ”   Comey said as the pair consumed pinot noir out of paper mugs.

“ OK, ” Colbert said gently, then offered:   “ Drink some more wine. ”

Although Comey didn’ t drink enough vino in order to let down his guard,   this individual did speak long enough to go nicely beyond the allotted interview period. However , the full discussion was afterwards posted online.
