Dan Gainor: Terrorists, gang-bangers and porn star get good media coverage — Proof of journalism’s decline

The American media gave sympathetic coverage this past week to the terrorist group Hamas, the gang bangers of MS-13 and a porn celebrity – while continuing relentless episodes on the president of the United States.

And you believed “ journalism” couldn’ t obtain any worse.

The week began with an additional signature achievement for President Trump – the opening of the Oughout. S. Embassy in Jerusalem. Transferring the embassy from Tel Aviv was a promise that dated returning to the 1992 presidential campaign of Costs Clinton .

Clinton went on to disregard the promise, as did both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama after him, despite the 1995 law that required the particular embassy move unless it decreasing in numbers U. S. national security.

Candidate Trump promised to move the embassy and it has now done what he guaranteed.

Hamas organized weeks of riots in the border fence separating Israel plus Gaza to mark the seventy th wedding anniversary of the creation of Israel – an event the Palestinians call ‘s Nakba (the Catastrophe) – plus coinciding with the embassy opening.

First girl Ivanka Trump and her spouse, Jared Kushner – both agents to the president – attended the particular opening. The media made large sport out of a photo of Ivanka Trump smiling at the celebration from the embassy opening.

Then an interesting thing occurred. Hamas admitted that 50 from the 62 people who were killed had been members of its terrorist organization.

The New York Day-to-day News ran with a cover picture of Ivanka Trump and a good inset photo of Palestinians transporting off a wounded rioter within Gaza many miles away. This featured the headline : “ DADDY’S LITTLE GHOUL. ” Daily News Editor-in-Chief Jim Rich was once the HuffPost executive editor. To ensure that level of professionalism shouldn’ t shock people.

Sixty-two Palestinians were reportedly murdered in Gaza in the past week plus media outlets rushed to throw His home country of israel , which was defending its edge fence against rioters and terrorists trying to breach the defensive hurdle. Some admitted in interviews which they wanted to launch attacks inside His home country of israel.

“ With 60 Killed In Gaza, U. N. Rights Commissioner Criticizes Israel, ” NPR reported. “ Today” co-host Hoda Kotb held responsible the new embassy opening for the violence . “ The opening of the brand new U. S. Embassy in Jerusalem fueling outrage, with more protests prepared today, ” she alleged. Since somehow Palestinian violence is a brand new thing.

CBS News correspondent Holly Williams reported on “ CBS This particular Morning” that Palestinians were “ furious after the U. S. Charge was moved to Jerusalem, ” as though they had not been rioting to get weeks.

ABC’ s “ World Information Tonight” Chief Foreign Correspondent Terry Moran linked the two events. He noted that, as Ivanka Trump and her husband still left, “ they also left behind this: A lot more clashes throughout Gaza and the Western Bank. ”

Moran went on to replicate what is now considered a extremely questionable claim, that a Palestinian child had been killed by tear gasoline. (Who brings their baby to some violent riot? ) “ An infant suffocated by tear gas put to rest. They draped their particular flag on the little body, ” he reported. The Washington Post went through several edits upon its online story, gradually downplaying the certainty of how the baby passed away.

After that an interesting thing happened. Hamas accepted that 50 of the 62   people who were killed were people of its terrorist organization. The Times associated with Israel also added that “ the Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad had said on Tuesday that will three members of its Saraya al-Quds military wing were killed simply by Israeli forces in Khan Younis. ” That means 85 percent of these killed belonged to terrorist groups.

That was a lot of truth. ABC, CBS and NBC lowered the story like a warm potato. The Washington Post ran a front-page story the following day that seemed entirely ignorant from the news. Instead, it blamed His home country of israel “ for its alleged use of extreme force” and added that His home country of israel “ is facing questions regarding why protests by mostly disarmed Palestinians ended in horrific bloodshed. ”

No wonder when President Trump messaged out about his poll figures this week, he said : “ Much of the Press may be corrupt, but the People really get it! ”

2 . Media Overall Lie About Trump MS-13 Remark: There’ s press bias and then there’ s the way the media handled the president’ s i9000 comment about the violent gang MS-13. They just made it up plus bombarded the public with a lie.

The chief executive was asked a question about MS-13 and he responded with appropriate hard talk: “ A person wouldn’ t believe how poor these people are. These aren’ t individuals. These are animals. ”

White House Push Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders looked after the president with a great putdown: “ if the media and liberals want to defend MS-13, they’re over welcome to. ”

This news media went nuts. Outlet right after outlet misreported the story. It was such as ABC’ s Brian Ross had suddenly become a global information editor. The Associated Press, the brand new York Times‏, the New York Day-to-day News, the networks and many other information organizations joined in – every pretending President Trump had bashed immigrants, not gangs.

The Times tweeted : “ Trump lashed out at undocumented immigrants throughout a White House meeting, calling individuals trying to breach the country’ h borders ‘ animals. ’ ”

The Daily Information went with a strange version of the story, making it regarding all immigrants, not just illegals. “ Trump Hurls Hate at Migrants, ” it said.

Snopes, the expected fact-checkers, got it wrong, too. It claimed, “ Trump known some people who cross the edge illegally as ‘ animals. ’ ” That’ s only real if you admit those “ some” are murderous gang members.

A march of media lefties rose in order to attack Trump for the comment. CNBC Editor-at-Large John Harwood defended the particular humanity of MS-13 members. “ However repugnant their activities, MS-13 gang members are humans IMHO. ”

Over at CNN, Contributor Ana Navarro compared Trump in order to “ Nazis” and “ servant owners, ” saying “ this individual doesn’ t get the benefit of the particular doubt. ” “ I’ meters a lot more concerned of why this individual does things like call immigrants creatures – when we start dehumanizing individuals. ”

MSNBC’ s Chris Hayes claimed : “ This MS-13 nonsense offers precisely the same structure as the hurtful drug war rhetoric of the split years. ”

Even Prepared Parenthood got into the act, tweeting : “ Migrants are people. They are our neighbours, our friends, and members from the Planned Parenthood family. ” Will be MS-13 part of the Planned Parenthood loved ones? I wouldn’ t be amazed.

After that came the fallout. AP admitted it had been wrong and removed its initial tweet “ since it wasn’ t made clear that he had been speaking after a comment about team members. ”

CNN anchor Jake Tapper helped out and‏ gave “ context” to the president’ ersus remarks, noting accurately that they “ came as a sheriff was going on about restrictions placed on ICE databases, plus MS-13 gang members. ”

And, actually, New York Times White House Reporter Jules Davis got the storyplot right and her employer actually tweeted that out with the exact same account. “ Trump invokes anxiety about dangerous criminals clamoring to infringement the border at WH migration roundtable today; saying, ‘ These types of aren’ t people, these are pets. ’ ”

White House press admin Dorothy Huckabee Sanders looked after the president with a great putdown: “ If the media and liberals want to defend MS-13, they’re a lot more than welcome to. ”

3. Porn-Friendly TELEVISION: The play “ Avenue Q” has a song exclaiming “ the Internet is for porn. ” That was before Stormy Daniels plus her lawyer hit the picture. The Internet has been replaced by TELEVISION news.

Forget the has-been porn star plus focus on her TV star attorney Michael Avenatti. He’ s already been on broadcast and cable information 147 times in just 10 weeks – all to party President Trump. That’ s the only real reason he gets any surroundings time. He actually appeared 7 times on one single day.

Thank CNN for the majority of of this travesty – 74 from the appearances. That isn’ t as well surprising, since he’ s already been partying with CNN anchor Add Lemon and others out at Sag Possess.   The wife associated with CNN Political Commentator Errol Louis tweeted about it and then deleted this. She even made her Tweets account private. Too late.

When Avenatti wasn’ t partying with the media, this individual was threatening to sue all of them. Two different publications felt his lawful wrath. Avenatti furthermore had a dustup with the Hollywood Media reporter and allegedly called a media reporter there an obscene name . He’ s also being investigated with the State Bar of California for allegedly past due taxes.

If it sounds like a Television show plot, others might agree. Mediaite documented : “ A ‘ Crossfire-style’ television show just for 2018 is being pitched to CNN and MSNBC, starring none other than Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Avenatti. ”

Avenatti responded to reports of getting a Television show with a tweet, saying: “ Rofl. I have no interest in television now. ”
