“ When jurisdictions choose to come back criminal aliens to the streets instead of turning them over to federal migration authorities, they put the public’ ersus safety at risk. San Francisco’ h decision to protect criminal aliens resulted in the preventable and heartbreaking dying of Kate Steinle, ” he or she said. “ While the State associated with California sought a murder cost for the man who caused Microsoft. Steinle’ s death— a man would you not have been on the streets associated with San Francisco if the city simply privileged an ICE detainer— the people eventually convicted him of felon within possession of a firearm. ”

Without producing mention of any additional charges, he stated the DOJ “ will keep ensure that all jurisdictions place the security and safety of their communities above the ease of criminal aliens. ”

The fatal capturing of 32-year-old Steinle – on the San Francisco pier in 2015 — touched off a fierce nationwide immigration debate, and was utilized by then-candidate Trump to push for any wall on the Mexican border.
