Dove apologizes for ‘racist’ ad that triggered outcry

Soap company Dove is usually apologizing for a Facebook ad this says “ missed the tag in representing women of colour thoughtfully. ”

The ad has since already been deleted. But according to screen holds, it showed a black lady wearing a brown shirt remove the girl top to reveal a whitened woman wearing a lighter-colored shirt.

It then shows the second lady removing her shirt to show a 3rd woman with a shirt of a 3rd color.

NBC News reports that the screenshots of the ad were first discussed by make-up artist Naomi Leann Blake before going viral.

Dove issued an apology upon Twitter and Facebook Saturday.
