A Northern California tow-truck driver is accused of planning an ISIS-inspired Christmas Day suicide attack on Fisherman’s Wharf in San francisco bay area.
Everitt Aaron Jameson, 26, was arrested and charged Friday with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
In a statement, Acting San Francisco Mayor London Breed credited the “diligent efforts of the FBI and local law enforcement agencies” for thwarting the planned assault and announced that the San Francisco Law enforcement Department would have an increased presence through the city.
“San Francisco is a town that proudly champions democracy, independence and liberty, ” Breed mentioned. “Sadly, that makes our home the target. We will not allow the thwarted attempts of one dangerous individual in order to disrupt our way of life. We will stay vigilant and continue to protect the city from any threat. inch
The spokeswoman for the FBI’s San Francisco industry office said in a statement there was “no specific and reputable threat to the Bay Area with this time” and “the public had been never in imminent danger. inch
Jameson denied the allegations during a listening to in federal court Friday.
Their father, Gordon Jameson, said he or she believes the FBI has the details wrong.

In an 11-page affidavit filed in federal government court in Fresno Friday, F special agent Christopher McKinney supposed that Jameson espoused “radical jihadi beliefs” on social media. Jameson informed the undercover agent that “he did not have and did not require an escape plan because he was prepared to die, ” McKinney wrote in the affidavit.
Pier 39, packed with restaurants, pubs and souvenir shops, is home to San Francisco’s aquarium and offers a good place to photograph sea lions that will gather in the marina below.
That evening, Jameson allegedly drafted a martyrdom letter swearing allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi plus criticizing U. S. President Jesse Trump.
“Each and every Kuffar in this Nationalistic, Godless society has a hand in this particular, ” the note read. “You’ve allowed Donald J Trump to provide Al Quds [Jerusalem] to the Jews. Both You and this individual are wrong, it belongs to the [Muslims]#@@#@!!… These acts will certainly continue until the Lions of Islam overtake you. ”
Two days later, nevertheless , Jameson appeared to be getting cold foot about his plan. In a discussion with the second undercover FBI broker, Jameson allegedly said, “I… do not think I can do this after all. I’ve reconsidered. ”

Jameson faces as much as 20 years in prison if found guilty. He was ordered held to get a Dec. 28 detention hearing.
Jameson made a pledge to the Muslim faith two years ago at an Islamic center in Merced, according to the affidavit. A message left at the Islamic Middle of Merced was not immediately came back.
“The threat from radical Islamic terrorism is real — in fact it is serious, ” Attorney General Shaun Sessions said in a statement, yet federal agents are protecting area from what he called “an alleged plot to kill People in america. ”
