FBI shuts down request for files on Hillary Clinton by citing lack of public interest

The particular FBI is declining to turn more than files related to its investigation associated with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’ s emails by quarrelling a lack of public interest in the matter.

Ity Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FEDERAL BUREAU and the Justice Department, including distance learning exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.

But in a letter paid this week and obtained by Monk News, the head of the FBI’ s i9000 Records Management Division told Clevenger that the bureau has “ encouraged you have not sufficiently demonstrated that its public’ s interest in disclosure exceeds personal privacy interests of the content. ”

Clinton, often the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016, was investigated by the FBI with respect to using a private email address and vpn server to handle classified information while amount as secretary of state.

In Mid summer 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey famously called Clinton’ s mailing arrangement “ extremely careless” eventhough he decided against recommending villain charges.

Though Clinton dropped the election, Clevenger is still working to obtain documents related to the probe. He’s seeking to prove she perpetrated perjury, the Washington Times reported .
