Florida House aide fired after claiming Florida shooting survivors are ‘actors’

A good aide to a Florida House consultant was fired Tuesday after this individual said that Parkland students who were talking out on gun control after Wednesday’ s mass shooting were compensated actors.

The aide to His party Rep. Shawn Harrison, Benjamin Kelly, e-mailed Tampa Bay Times reporter   Alex Leary to declare that two Marjory Stoneman Douglas learners who appeared on CNN weren’ t actually survivors of the strike.

“Both kids in the picture are not learners here but actors that visit various crisis when they happen, ” Kelly reportedly emailed the newspapers. When the Tampa Bay reporter requested proof, the House aide sent the follow-up email claiming the same college student who appeared on CNN, Brian Hogg, was in another state countless miles away.

“There is a clip upon you tube that shows Mr. Hogg out in California. (I speculate he transferred? ), ” Kelly’s email reportedly stated.

Harrison took to Twitter Wednesday evening to explain that he “ positioned [Kelly] on keep until we determine an appropriate alternative, ” adding that he doesn’ to “ share his opinion and did so without my information. ”

Subsequent Harrison’ s post, Kelly had written that he’ s been “ terminated from the State House” as they “ tried to inform a media reporter of information relating to his story concerning a school shooting. This was not really my responsibility. I meant simply no disrespect to the students or mom and dad of Parkland. ”

The aide later on said online that Rep. Harrison “ is an honest and reputable man. In no way should be held responsible designed for my error in judgment. ”

Sarasota House Speaker Richard Corcoran, the Republican, said that he “ has been shocked and angry to read [Kelly’s] appalling email regarding the brave students who traveled in order to Tallahassee today, ” and stated that with Harrison’ s support, this individual fired Kelly and apologized for the House.

Conspiracy advocates often claim after mass shootings that survivors or victims that appear in the media are stars playing a role.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., mentioned that “ Declaring some of the students on tv after #Parkland are actors is the work of the disgusting group of idiots with no feeling of decency. ”

After his shooting,   Kelly tweeted :   “ And you may know the truth, and the truth will certainly set you free. ”
