Florida House Debates Porn, But Refuses To Discuss Assault Weapons

As tearful survivors of the Parkland school shooting watched, the Republican-led Florida House of Representatives upon Tuesday declined to discuss a ban on assault weaponry . Photos showed a distraught student being comforted in the photo gallery. Another survivor of last week’ s massacre expressed “ indescribable” rage on Twitter.

Later within the day, many of the same lawmakers  discussed at size a bill that reports porn a public health danger. The bill ― which demands improved “ education, research plus policy changes to protect Floridians, specifically teenagers, from pornography” — had been given the green light by a voice vote , documented the Tampa Bay Times.

“ Has anyone had to bury their child due to pornography ? ” asked Representative. Carlos Guillermo Smith (D), which sponsored the legislation seeking to prohibit assault weapons and large-capacity ammo magazines.

Rep. Kionne McGhee (D), tried to bring the gun manage bill to the floor, but unsuccessful in a  36-71 party-line vote .

Condition lawmakers shunned the measure just one week after a 19-year-old shooter along with an  AR-15-style strike rifle   killed  17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Senior high school.

A survivor, 16-year-old junior Anthony Lopez, told The New York Periods that lawmakers were “ inhuman ”   for failing to discuss weapon legislation.

Another student, Emma Gonzalez, who has voiced publicly and powerfully in support of tighter gun control laws since the shooting, reacted with rage on Twitter.

Others on Twitter  lambasted Fl lawmakers for concentrating on porn instead of guns.

“ I wish you could make this clips up, ” Twitter user plus activist Kelly Ellis wrote.
