Florida professor suggests Texans deserve Harvey for supporting Trump

The University of Tampa professor associated with sociology   apologized to get a tweet on Sunday suggesting that will Texans deserved Hurricane Harvey because of the support for President Trump within the 2016 election.

“ I don’ t believe in instant Karma yet this kinda feels like it with regard to Texas, ” Ken Storey published in the original tweet,   according to Campus Change . “ Hopefully this will help all of them realize the GOP doesn’ to care about them. ”

Responding  to a commenter who pushed back on the twitter update, Storey reportedly wrote: “ Nicely, the good people there need to do a lot more to stop the evil their condition pushes. I’ m only blaming those who support the GOP presently there. ”

The commenter asked Storey in case Trump supporters in Florida earned a similar fate.

“ Yep, those who the very best for him here deserve this as well. ”

After the tweet started to create waves on social media, the professor  tweeted   Monday afternoon: “ I actually deeply regret a statement We posted yesterday. I never designed to wish ill will upon any kind of group. I hope all affected by Harvey recover quickly. ”

He ultimately removed the orginal tweet,   based on Campus Reform.

Eric Cá rdenas, Movie director of Public Information at The University associated with Tampa, told Fox News inside a statement: “ The University associated with Tampa stands in solidarity using the people impacted by Hurricane Harvey, plus our thoughts and prayers are usually with all involved. The comments made by Kenneth Storey were made via their private social media account. They were not really made within his capacity like a faculty member, and they don’ big t represent the University’ s sights. The University of Tampa condemns these comments and the sentiment to their rear. Storey has publicly apologized to get his comments. ”

Harvey has been held responsible for at least three confirmed fatalities, including a woman killed Monday within the town of Porter, northeast associated with Houston, when a large oak shrub dislodged by heavy rains toppled onto her trailer home.

A Houston television station reported Monday that will six family members were believed to possess drowned when their van has been swept away by floodwaters. The particular KHOU report was attributed to 3 family members the station did not determine. No bodies have been recovered.
