Previous Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is currently being treated for pancreatic cancer at Johns Hopkins Medical center in Baltimore. The former Democratic senator from Nevada underwent surgery Mon to remove a tumor from their pancreas, Reid’s family confirmed inside a statement.

Reid’s family mentioned he’ll undergo chemoptherapy as part of their treatment. His surgery was effective and Reid was “in great spirits” and “resting” with his household afterward.
“He is grateful to their highly skilled team of doctors and also to all who have sent and still send their love and assistance, ” his family adds.
Senate Group Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N. Con., said he spoke with Reid’s family after the operation.
“Spoken to as well as it seems @SenatorReid’s operation went properly. We are all praying for dear Harry’ s speedy recovery, ” he or she tweeted Monday afternoon.
Reid retired from the Senate in late 2016 after a 30-year career within politics. He announced that he would not really seek re-election in March 2015 — months after undergoing two models of eye surgery following a calamitous, New Year’ ersus Day exercise accident at their Nevada home.
