Former Trump campaigner and Rubio intern shot 13 times while sleeping

A longtime GOP staffer who worked on President Trump’ s 2016 campaign and interned for Sen. Marco Rubio this year was discovered dead Tuesday right after being shot 13 times in the sleep.

Nick Corvino, 30, associated with Kissimmee, Fla., was shot in the legs, back and head, the criminal arrest affidavit stated, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Corvino’ s roommate, Scott Waddell, 45, who was arrested plus charged with first-degree murder, informed deputies he “ sometimes provides homicidal thoughts about killing teenage boys, but has never acted on them, ”   Osceola County Sheriff’ s Office   said.

Police were sent to the picture after receiving a report of an security alarm going off Tuesday morning.

When deputies arrived at the apartment, Waddell opened up the door with blood splattered in the feet and his hands.

Deputies searched the apartment where they will found Corvino dead in his mattress. Waddell was detained following the breakthrough of Corvino’ s body.

The Orlando, florida Sentinel reported there were cameras within the apartment which captured the moments prior to the shooting but not the slaying itself.

Deputies said they “ considered the fired shots set off the particular alarms, which turned on the digital cameras. ”

The video showed Waddell shifting Corvinos’ s body to the edge from the bed and looking at him for some minutes, deputies told the Orlando, florida Sentinel.

Waddell said he and Corvino spent time together the night just before in the apartment.

Waddell told deputies he or she was “ mentally disabled” plus took a few medications before this individual went to bed. It was not clear exactly what medications he took.

“ This individual said he woke up frightened and being in Nicholas’ room in which he saw Nicolas covered in bloodstream with a gun lying next to your pet, ” the arrest affidavit mentioned.

Waddell owned two guns, a shotgun and handgun. He told deputies during the interview that he had simply no recollection of the shooting and questioned if Corvino was dead.

Waddell informed deputies he and the victim “ were best friends for 10 years. ”  

Waddell was being held in Osceola County Jail.

Corvino was a longtime strategy GOP campaign staffer who labored on Attorney General Pam Bondi R-Fla. and former Chief Financial Official Jeff Atwater’ s R-Fla. marketing campaign. Corvino was previously employed at Disney’ s Polynesian Resort, according to their Fb page.

Bondi told the particular Orlando Sentinel she was “ heartbroken” when she heard of Corvino’ s death and said he or she was “ a great young man. ”

“ Nick Corvino was a great child who had his entire life in front of him, ” Bondi added. “ He was charismatic and type. ”
