A teenager who sat the girl chemistry GCSE the day after the lady escaped from the Grenfell Tower open fire has been awarded an A quality in the subject.
Ines Alves, who lived on the thirteenth floor, fled the blazing prevent holding her chemistry notes plus sat the exam in the clothing she left in.
Speaking at her school within Hammersmith, the 16-year-old said the lady was “quite happy” with the girl grades.
She furthermore gained top marks in maths and Spanish.
The particular teenager now plans to study biochemistry, maths, economics and sociology whenever she starts her A-levels later on this year.
In the days following the fire, Ines missed exams of all time, RE and physics which has impacted her overall grades.
“I wish I did more, although, I don’t know… For the exams I actually missed, I didn’t do as well well in them overall [the subjects], ” she said.
Sacred Heart High School headteacher Marian Doyle called her outcomes “fantastic”.
“It should have been so hard for her to actually are available in and do that and try to blot out there the scenes of what the lady had seen, ” she mentioned.
Ines said the lady sat her chemistry paper that will morning as “there was simply no point me carrying on viewing the building burning”.
The girl family are currently living in a resort as they wait to be offered an everlasting home.
