Gym teacher arrested after reportedly choking students with jump rope

A gym teacher in Clovis, Calif. has been arrested after this individual allegedly tied a jump rope close to students’ necks to “ discipline” them, Fox 26 documented.

Authorities arrived at Herndon Barstow Primary on Thursday afternoon after the Clovis County Sheriff’ s Office obtained a report that students had been wounded, reports said.

Upon investigation, police found that Peter Samhammer, 64, a actual education teacher at the school, experienced attempted to punish students by choking them with a jump rope during course on the playground, Fox 26 stated.

Samhammer allegedly tied the jump rope close to students’ necks and would tighten up it before releasing them.

The learners were all between ages nine and 11, according to the sheriff’ ersus office.

Detectives said the victims got red marks on their necks plus shoulders due to the rope.

Samhammer was imprisoned and charged with four matters of child abuse, Fox twenty six reported.

Central Single School District released a declaration on the situation.

“ Mr. Samhammer will be on official administrative leave. College student safety is a top priority for the region and as such, we are fully cooperating with all the Fresno County Sheriff’ s Workplace and will continue to do so throughout the span of its investigation. ”

Samhammer also apparently worked in the Clovis Unified College District at one point being a temporary employee but is not currently utilized by them.
