Actor Hywel Bennett, known for their roles in Shelley and EastEnders, has died aged 73, their agent has confirmed.

The Carmathenshire-born actor’s roles integrated 1960s films The Family Way, along with Hayley and John Mills, as well as the Virgin Soldiers, with Lynn Redgrave.

But it was in the particular long-running sitcom Shelley that he produced his name.

Bennett : whose other television roles integrated Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy plus Pennies from Heaven – performed the title role in the collection.

It ran through 1979 to 1984 and informed the story of an unemployed man residing in a London bedsit. He later on reprised the role in The Come back of Shelley, which ran through 1988 to 1992.

This individual joined EastEnders in 2003 since Jack Dalton, a gangland employer who ended up being killed within a good act of revenge .
