The evaluation makes 40 recommendations for how to assistance employees to remain at work, including producing an online wellbeing portal and using electronic technology to support workers in the event economy.
Businesses are also being encouraged to include an area on employee mental health within their annual reports. Currently only 11% of companies do this, the statement said.

The evaluation says employers should:
- Create a mental health at your workplace plan
- Build psychological health awareness by making information plus support accessible
- Motivate open conversations
- Offer good working conditions and ensure workers have a healthy work-life balance
- Promote effective people management, along with line managers holding regular discussions about health and well-being with their staff members
- Routinely monitor employee psychological health
The particular review said that people with long-term psychological health problems were leaving jobs with twice the rate of colleagues without such issues, although it did declare some people may be counted twice : if they left one job, came back to work elsewhere after a break yet were then unable to continue within their new post.
