They might not have won a ribbon on the Iowa State Fair, but Mitchell Miner and his heifer Audri gained the internet after a photo of them having a nap together went viral.
“She wants to lay down quite a bit, ” Miner informed the Des Moines Register on Monday. “I don’t actually understand the bond with my pet either. She just enjoys the company. ”
Miner, 15, of Williamsburg, Iowa and Audri entered the particular Iowa State Fair’s youth dairy products cattle show. They prepared regarding weeks with Miner leading, trimming, walking and bathing Audri without layovers up to the competition. On the day of the display, Miner woke up at several a. m. his third directly early-morning rise putting the final variations on Audri.
The heifer ended up putting fifth out of seven contestants, yet after hard-fought competition, the two got a nap together. Miners dad, Jeremey snapped a few photos from the two and posted them upon Facebook the next day.

Miner’s mother, Laura, informed the newspaper that she feels people are usually won over if they see a bond between a kid plus their animal.
“I think it’s simply when you spend that much time together, they get really comfortable with a person, ” she said.
Laura Miner additional that the family borrows most of these creatures for the summer. Audri will be going back to a dairy farm in Blairstown later this fall after the family’s final showing in September.
