Kirstjen Nielsen tells Fox News more than a dozen known or suspected terrorists try to enter US each day
Greater than a dozen known or suspected terrorists are trying to get into the U. S i9000. on any given day, Homeland Safety Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told Sibel News, citing new data offered to the department.
“People think of edge security in very different way yet to me it’ s very simple: edge security is national security, inch Nielsen said. “What we find at the Department of Homeland Protection, we see 15 terrorists possibly planning to travel or actually visiting the United States each day, known and thought terrorists. So that means they are arriving through our legal land, slot and air but they could be finding that (southwest) border. ”
In Nyc for a series of recent closed-door risk and intelligence meetings, Nielsen talked exclusively with Fox News with Ground Zero — not not even close to the October 2017 attack exactly where an ISIS-inspired terrorist used a 52 pick up to kill eight people across the West Side Highway.
“Using the Internet, terrorist groups are encouraging followers to create your own weapon, use a car, utilize a truck, use a knife, something it is simple to pick up, and go and devote chaos and murder, ” Nielsen explained.

Asked if the administration has been dissuaded from the travel ban provided the setbacks, Nielsen said, “I’ m not. I think it’ ersus a requirement, I think that’ s i9000 what Americans expect their govt to do, is to ensure that people vacationing here do not intend to do all of them harm. ”

Nielsen pushed back against critics which said she got the top work because she worked for the administration’s first DHS chief, John Kelly, now the White House main of staff.
“I worked at the crossroads of policy and operations, inch Nielsen told Fox News. “I kind of bring all that experience collectively because homeland security is a group sport, and I’ve played nearly every role, every player, every group. So from that perspective I believe I bring that uniqueness to ensure that policy is never made in vacuum pressure and operations are never made in this type of way as to violate a policy. inch
