Man wanted in Maine deputy’s slaying was arrested with the fallen officer’s own cuffs, authorities say

The person wanted in connection with the fatal capturing of a Maine deputy was in guardianship after a four-day intense manhunt, imprisoned with the slain deputy’s own handcuffs, the police said.

John Williams, twenty nine, was captured by authorities Sunday, Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster confirmed during a news conference, including that he was taken into guardianship at a camp near Route 139 in Norridgewock.

When asked by a media reporter about the detail involving the handcuffs, the particular sheriff confirmed that the ones utilized had belonged to Cpl. Eugene Cole, 62, the shooting victim. The particular sheriff said he “felt it turned out fitting. ”

On Sunday, about 150 law enforcement officers continued to be in the area as searchers took benefit of improving weather to use ground patrols and aircraft to focus on a certain portion of woods, where they believed Williams might be hiding.
