Missouri couple accused of putting infant son in microwave

A man plus woman in Missouri are dealing with child abuse charges after they apparently put their infant son inside a microwave and dropped him — all while trying to imitate the TV commercial.

Derick Boyce-Slezak plus Mikala Boyce-Slezak of Park Hillsides, Missouri were charged Tuesday along with felony abuse or neglect of the child and are jailed on $250, 000 bond.  

The injuries had been discovered when the baby, who was youthful than 4 months at the time, has been taken to a St . Louis medical center for a rash. Doctors at the Cardinal-Glennon Hospital Emergency Room found second-degree face burns and head injuries.  

The particular couple claimed a cleaning agent triggered the burns, according to court documents acquired by the  St . Louis-Dispatch .

During a Monday listening to, a state social worker claimed Mikala had blamed her infant son’ s head wounds on Derick who dropped the baby while wanting to imitate a commercial he noticed on television. It’s not clear which industrial it was.

The state social worker also mentioned Mikala believed Derick placed the newborn in a microwave and briefly flipped it on, court documents said.

Mikala pleaded the fifth at the hearing plus Derick  didn’t testify.

The couple also offers a daughter but waived guardianship shortly after she was born in 2016, the St . Louis-Dispatch added.
