A third-grade student at an elementary school within Texas got a special surprise Wednesday during lunchtime when her mom was brought home a day early following a seven-month deployment with the Navy.
The particular Hutto Independent School District arranged the reunion for Navy Main Petty Officer Marqueta Grant plus her daughter, Christina Zamora.
“ I am aware my baby so well. I am aware her so well. I just understood she would cry, and the arms might fly up. I anticipated this, ” Grant told FOX7 .
Grant, who has experienced the Navy for 22 yrs, said she loves her work.
“ It teaches existence lessons people don’t normally obtain, ” she said.
But the deployments are becoming more difficult, especially leaving her household.
“ It’s hard to be away from your family but I know what I’m performing serves a purpose, ” Grant informed FOX7.
Zamora said the deployments create her “really miss” her mother.
“ I feel like she’s never arriving home and it’s really emotional to consider her not coming home, inch she said.
Grant will invest two weeks at home, then deploy for that very last time before coming back home for good in August. The girl 22 years of service is some thing her family told FOX7 they may be thankful for.
“ She told me to be daring sometimes when she’s overseas and also to think about something else instead of crying, ” Zamora told FOX7.
