Openly atheist Dem trumped by Republican landslide in special election in Tennessee

Openly atheist Democrat Gayle Michael jordan lost a special election on Wednesday to fill a vacant chair in the Tennessee Senate.

Republican Shane Reeves won in a landslide, based on unofficial results from the Tennessee admin of state. He received thirteen, 139 votes compared to 5, 179 votes for Jordan.

Reeves will fill a chair vacated by Republican Jim Tracy after he resigned to act as state director of the U. H. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Advancement office.
