Pawn shop trolls Dick’s Sporting Goods with sign advertising AR-15’s

A pawn shop in South Carolina has poked fun at Dick’ s Sports with a sign advertising the business markets assault rifles unlike the major dealer.

The Crossroads Pawn and Sound in Little River, S. D., put up a sign last week stating, “ We sell AR-15’ s mainly because we’ re not Dick’ ersus. ”

The sign was a tongue-in-cheek jab to the sporting goods retailer, which introduced in February that it would no more sell assault-style weapons following the fatal Parkland school shooting. The store furthermore announced it would ban the product sales of all guns to anyone below 21. Following the retailer’ s choice to stop selling the weapons, a number of major gun manufacturers announced these were severing ties with the company.

The pawn store put up the sign before the lethal school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas,   WPDE   reported. The sign was fulfilled with backlash from residents exactly who felt the sign was unpleasant.

“We want to be able to help the city keep their families safe, to keep by themselves safe, to advocate, you know, accountable gun ownership, ” Davey stated.

“ We would like to consider this opportunity to thank everybody for support. But with the tremendous outpouring of positive reinforcement comes people who don’ t have the same sights. We respect everyone’ s individual opinion. We would also like to clear upward any confusion. An AR-15 is just not a combat weapon or a technical assault rifle. And in no way would be the horrific massacres happening to our kids and in our schools acceptable. This particular violence must stop. But it’ s not the guns eliminating innocent Americans. We will continue to consider strides to reinforce and advocate just for responsible gun ownership.
