Sen. John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Sen. John McCain(R-Ariz. ) has been identified as having brain cancer, his office introduced Wednesday.

The 80-year-old Republican leader have been away from Washington the past several times, recovering in his home state from the surgery he underwent last Friday within Phoenix to remove a blood clog above his left eye. Pursuing the operation, tissue pathology revealed that the primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot.

McCains office said in a statement upon Wednesday that the senator remained positive, despite the difficult news.

Senator McCain appreciates the outpouring associated with support he has received over the last couple of days. He is in good spirits when he continues to recover at home with his loved ones in Arizona. He is grateful towards the doctors and staff at Mayonaise Clinic for their outstanding care, and it is confident that any future therapy will be effective.
