Students should learn CPR, not seek gun laws, Santorum says

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum said Sunday that students that have rallied for gun control ought to instead learn CPR or discover their own way to prevent a college shooting.

The 2012 plus 2016 presidential candidate said learners could work to stop bullying within their communities or respond themselves to some shooter instead of asking lawmakers in order to approve legislation to protect them.

Santorum’s responses prompted outrage on social media each day after hundreds of thousands of teenagers plus their supporters rallied across the Oughout. S. to push for harder laws to fight gun assault.

Representative. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., posted upon Twitter, “ Dear Rick Santorum: CPR is good for heart stoppage. Bad for victims of multiple AR-15 bullets, which typically impart three times the lethal energy upon effect than a 9mm handgun bullet. AR-15 bullets obliterate organs and result in so much bleeding that victims pass away very quickly. ”

The demonstrations Sunday were led by students through Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School within Parkland, Florida, where 17 individuals were killed last month.

“ I think @RickSantorum might need to learn CPR for the NRA following midterms, ” David Hogg, an #NeverAgain activist tweeted.

Santorum declared that if the rallies are about greater than politics, then the country needs to have the broader discussion that doesn’t revolve close to “phony gun laws” that do work.

“They took action to request someone to pass a law, inch he said of the demonstrators. “They didn’t take action to say, `How will i, as an individual, deal with this problem? ‘”
