Sales of one’s drinks to children under sixteen have been banned in most major UNITED KINGDOM supermarkets, amid concerns about higher levels of sugar and caffeine.
Boots is also joining grocery stores such as Asda, Waitrose, Tesco as well as the Co-op in introducing the principle.
Retailers will restrict sale of energy drinks containing over 150mg of caffeine per litre to under-16s.
Co-op said it recognised the “growing concern about the consumption of energy drinks” among children.

Other supermarkets introducing the non-reflex ban include Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. Boots is the very first retailer to partake that is not the supermarket.
The Co-op, Aldi and Lidl implemented the particular change on 1 March, whilst Morrisons, Waitrose, Asda and Shoes put the rule in place on five March.

A welcome ban
