Ten children rescued from ‘horrible living conditions’ in California, parents arrested, cops announce
Ten children believed to be violently mistreated and living in “horrible” conditions had been removed from a home in Fairfield, Ca, and their parents were caught, police announced Monday.
Garbage, ruined food, and animal and human feces had been found strewn throughout the house, Lt. Greg Hurlbut said at a news meeting Monday.
He added that the kids described in interviews various situations of “intentional abuse. ” They will suffered puncture wounds, burns plus bruises consistent with getting shot having a pellet or BB gun, based on the department.

The children’s removal was started after a 12-year-old child was documented missing in the area on March thirty-one, the Fairfield Police Department mentioned in a news release . The child ultimately has been found and returned home.
While at the home, police said these people conducted a health and safety search plus discovered nine other children — ranging in age from 4 months to 11 years old — “living in squalor plus unsafe conditions. ”
The 10 kids were removed from the home on Mar 31.
The mother, recognized by police as Ina Rogers, 30, was arrested and billed with child neglect. She was launched afte rposting $10, 000 bail on Aprl 9.
She told reporters outside her home on Mon that she felt she had been judged for having so many children, as well as for choosing to home-school them.
“There’s simply no broken bones, there is no major marks, nothing, ” Rogers said. “My kids get bumped and bruised and scratched because they’re children but that’s it. ”
Rogers, who gave reporters the tour of her four-bedroom house, noted all of the children slept in a single room because they wanted to do so, plus claimed the house was messy the afternoon her kids were removed mainly because she was looking for her missing 12-year-old son.
Both Rogers and her spouse, 19-year-old Jonathan Allen, came from damaged homes, the mother said, adding that this couple wanted a large family.
The mother additional she was surprised Allen has been facing felony torture and mistreatment charges because he was not the disciplinarian of the family.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Allen and he has been arrested Friday and booked upon nine counts of felony pain and six counts of criminal offence child abuse. He’s being kept at the Solano County Jail instead of $1. 5 million bail.
Sharon Holly, Chief Deputy of the Solano Region District Attorney’s Office, said the kids told investigators the abuse went out with back to 2014.
Allen’s mother, Peggy Allen, told The Associated Press she has estranged from her son, yet that the situation is “embarrassing, inch because she didn’t raise your pet this way and cited her family’s Christian faith. She also stated she had spoken to Allen about the importance of keeping his house clean.
