Terrorism suspected in Edmonton attack that leaves 5 injured

The police officer was stabbed and at minimum four people were injured by a racing U-Haul truck in events that will police in Edmonton, Canada, mentioned were being investigated as works of terror.

One suspect is at custody, said Edmonton Police Main Rod Knecht, adding that law enforcement believe the suspect acted by itself.

The chaos began outside Earth Stadium, where a Canadian Football Little league game was being played. Police state a white Chevy Malibu rammed a traffic-control barricade and delivered an officer flying.

Knecht said the driving force then got out and bombarded the officer with a knife. The particular officer was stabbed multiple times prior to the suspect fled on foot, the Edmonton Record reported .

The officer was not significantly wounded, the Globe and Mail reported .

A couple of hours later, a U-Haul van has been stopped at an impaired driving check out stop and the driver sped away from with police in pursuit.

Police state the U-Haul hit and wounded four pedestrians before it folded and the suspect was arrested.

“ There were people flying and almost everything, ” witness Kim Anderson informed the Edmonton Journal. “ I’ m shocked — I just notice people flying. ”  

Knecht verified that an ISIS flag was found out inside the van, the Edmonton Log reported.

Later, the same suspect was stopped at a police check stop upon Wayne Gretzky Drive, this time generating the U-Haul. The suspect, considered to be 30 years old, drove off whenever police recognized him as the proprietor of the Malibu, the newspaper documented.
