Trump slams ‘numerous delays’ in IG’s Clinton email probe: ‘Hope report is not being changed’

President Trump on Wednesday slammed the “ numerous delays” in the Justice Department inspector general’ s probe of the Hillary Clinton email case, questioning why the last report has not yet been launched and whether it’ s becoming watered down.

“ What is taking such a long time with the Inspector General’ s Document on Crooked Hillary and Slick James Comey. Numerous delays. Wish Report is not being changed plus made weaker! There are so many horrible items to tell, the public has the right to understand. Transparency, ” Trump tweeted.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz’ s office for more than a yr has been reviewing the FBI’ ersus handling of the investigation into Clinton’ s use of a private email machine while she was secretary associated with state, but the release of the last report keeps getting pushed back again. The release was originally anticipated in-may. But last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee was forced to reschedule the hearing with Horowitz slated to get Tuesday. The committee pushed that will hearing to the following week, 06 11, as committee members failed to yet have a report to review, based on a congressional source.

A write version of the report, however , had been submitted to the DOJ and F in mid-May so officials can identify any information that should be protected through disclosure.

A source explained that the delay within the release could be tied to that procedure.

Horowitz’ s report is highly expected. He has looked at a variety of allegations, which includes whether it was improper for previous FBI Director James Comey to create a public announcement about not suggesting prosecution over the Clinton email set up.

It has been reported that the IG evaluation also is expected to hit FBI commanders for moving too slowly to examine a batch of Clinton email messages discovered toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Horowitz’ s review has put former top FBI recognized Andrew McCabe in legal peril. The Justice Department’ s inner watchdog sent a criminal recommendation for McCabe in April towards the U. S. Attorney’ s workplace in Washington in response to Horowitz’ ersus finding that McCabe leaked information towards the press and later lied about this to Comey and federal researchers, prompting Attorney General Jeff Classes to fire him in March.

The Wa Post reported that Comey offers since been questioned by the Oughout. S. attorney’ s office included in a McCabe investigation.

In November, Horowitz said his team had evaluated dozens of people and reviewed a large number of records in the course of the investigation.
