Two guests die in Loch Lomond hotel fire

Two guests have passed away after fire broke out in the Cameron House Hotel beside Grube Lomond.

More than two hundred guests were evacuated from the luxurious resort after the alarm was raised around 06: 40.

Law enforcement said one person was pronounced deceased at the scene while another passed away after being taken to the Regal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

A newly-married few and their young son had been taken to hospital for treatment plus later discharged.

Law enforcement Scotland said the hotel, close to Balloch, had been extensively damaged.

An extra at the hotel told BBC Radio stations Scotland how she initially believed the fire alarm was a exercise.

Ainsley Huxham said: “As soon as we still left our room – I just believed it was a fire alarm, just like a practice go.
