Woman recorded unconscious friend being raped, shared on social media, prosecutors say

A Chicago woman had been charged last week after she apparently filmed her unconscious friend getting sexually assaulted — and transmitted the attack on social media.

Beth Rae Harris, 36, is falsely accused of posting videos and photographs of the 23-year-old female friend who experienced passed out after drinking in a party Aug. 24.

Harris and the target got into a heated argument more than a “mutual male acquaintance” while these were at a party together, before these people left to attend another event, and finally returned to the 36-year-old’ s residence, Assistant State’s Attorney Nora Gill said Thursday during a bond listening to at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse, the Chicago Sun-Times documented.

Prosecutors said the 23 year old have been drinking heavily during the night, and she dropped asleep shortly after getting to Harris’ house.  

They also allege, that after time for the apartment, Harris allowed a minumum of one or potentially several men in order to sexually assault the victim whilst she slept.

Gill told the courtroom in one of the videos “ the target lay naked as an unidentified guy grabbed her buttocks and uncovered her vagina to the camera, ” and that “ Harris allegedly could be heard narrating the assault for the video, at one point caution the man not to wake the sufferer, ” according to the Sun-Times.

The woman reportedly woke up the following morning completely nude and sore, and, before the lady left the apartment, Harris apparently told her a man had had sexual intercourse with her while she had been passed out.

The victim realized right after she returned home Harris experienced posted a number of images from the occurrence on the victim’ s own Snapchat account, prosecutors said.

They also said the particular videos and images were noticed by multiple users.

Harris was caught after she was identified with a friend of the victim who noticed one of the videos, officials said.

Harris’ open public defender said the accused provides three children and works as a masseuse and model while studying at elegance school.

Her bail was set on $150, 000.
