While size is just a amount on a tag, it can often stimulate anxiety and self-loathing in many. Yet one womans viral social media posting proves just how ridiculous clothing labeling really are.
Instagram user Katy, whom goes by the username @WODtheFork, published side by side photos of herself attempting on two pairs of jeans leggings at Express, both the identical size but different colors. In the pictures, Katy shows how one set wont go over her thighs, as the other pair is actually slightly too large.
Alongside the pictures, Katy explains why she wished to share the images and talks about the struggles shes faced during the past when it comes to finding clothes that match.
If you ever fall into a fitting room ready to breast into tears when something isn’t going to fit (we’ve all been presently there, myself included… millions of times… request my mom) REMEMBER THIS PICTURE! There are times I’m a small, times We cant even muscle into a huge, times a 10 falls off our hips & times, like this, keep in mind that even get past my thighs, the lady wrote.
She goes on to remind people that dimension means nothing and you shouldnt permit it define your self-worth. Dimension is silly… no one will know in case you had to bump up or down due to the cut, style, or likely drastically wrong sizing on the store’s part. A person mean so much more than fitting in to the smallest size you can. Our worth should never come from a number… on the range or in our clothes, Katy published.
Katy isnt the very first person to call out the clothing store for their sizing. Other people have taken to social media to express issues over having to go up as many because 4 sizes at H& M , complaining about the emotional effect this might have on peoples body image.
