WW II veteran gets high school diploma 74 years later

A 94-year-old Ww ii veteran from Ohio is partying Memorial Day with a high school degree.

Circleville High School honored Robert Lockard with its graduation ceremony Sunday.

Lockard was obviously a student at Circleville and could have graduated in 1944, but he or she dropped out and later joined up with the Army.

He served in the Air Corps 354th Infantry 89th Division plus spent time in northern France plus central Europe during World War II.

He obtained a European-African Middle Eastern Strategy Medal, three Bronze Star designations and a World War II Victory Medal.

But he admits that he always thought about graduating right after he returned home.

He says it means almost everything to him.
