The number of children doing an hour associated with exercise a day falls by almost 40% between the ages of 5 and 12.

More than 1, 1000 children aged five to eleven were questioned, with their parents recognizing that being active made youngsters feel happier (79%), more confident (72%), and more sociable (74%).
But the survey also found that kid’s overall happiness declined with age group, with 64% of five-and six-year-olds saying they always felt content, compared with just 48% of 11-year-olds.
“Children’s physical activity levels in England are usually alarmingly low, and the drop within activity from the ages of 5 to 12 is concerning, inch said Public Health England’s Eustace de Sousa.
“Children who get enough physical activity are usually mentally and physically healthier, and also have all-round better development into adulthood : getting into the habit of doing short explodes of activity early can provide lifelong benefits. ”
Currently, just 23% of kids and 20% of girls, between your ages of five and fifteen, meet the national recommended level of exercise, according to an NHS report published final December .

As part of the Change4Life campaign, Sport England and The disney produtcions have joined forces to start a 10 Minute Shake Ups program , encouraging children to take part in available activities across the school holidays.
“The 10 Minute Tremble Ups provide a load of enjoyable activities to get kids moving a lot more, ” said Olympic marathon swimmer Keri-anne Payne, who is backing the particular campaign.
“Being energetic is not just for Olympians, it’s for everybody. ”
