A western Canadian city of about 6, 000 people has been left devastated after learning that the bus carrying the town’s jr hockey team had collided having a semi-truck while traveling to a playoff sport, resulting in at least 14 deaths.
A minimum of 15 others on the bus had been injured, three of them critically, within the Friday crash, police confirmed.
The majority of those killed were likely for the Humboldt Broncos hockey team, who have been between 16 and 20 years older — though the Royal Canadian Installed Police [RCMP] may not specify how many of the fatalities had been players.
