The college resource deputy who was on patrol at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Secondary school in Parkland, Florida, on Feb .. 14 resigned Thursday after film surveillance showed he never passed through the school, even though he “clearly” figured out there was a shooting taking place, authorities said.
Deputy Scott Peterson, associated with the Broward County Sheriff’ s Place of, was stationed on the school’ utes campus when Nikolas Cruz opened up fire with an AR-15 rifle, waiting 17 people dead and others injured.
Sheriff Scott Israel during a press division Thursday said video showed Peterson arriving at the west side through the building where the shooting took place. Peterson, Israel said, took up a position on the contrary “never went in. ”
Peterson was armed in addition to uniform during the shooting, but unlikely entered the building despite “clearly” knowledge a shooting was happening, His home country of israel said.
