It’ s clear Donald Trump is a huge fan of Russian Chief executive Vladimir Putin . But whistleblower Edward Snowden says Americans shouldn’ big t get their hopes up that specific counsel Robert Mueller will probably nail the U. S. leader for colluding with the Kremlin.
“ There’ s no one in this world that [Trump] loves more than the Ruskies president , ” said Snowden, who exposed eavesdropping by the Nationwide Security Agency five years ago and today lives in exile in Russia, the refugee from U. S. treason charges.
“ I think people are asking for a lot of when they hope that the Mueller analysis is going to come up with a smoking gun towards Trump ― yes, Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump in the hotel room using the piss tape, ” Snowden quipped in Friday’ s episode from the “ Deconstructed” podcast at The Intercept. “ That’ s not the way the world works. Life is not that easy. ”
Snowden, speaking from Moscow, stated he also doesn’ t think Trump is the kind of crack dual operator Putin would rely on.
“ In truth, everyone who has heard Trump talk for three minutes knows he’ ersus a wrecking ball, ” he or she said. “ This does not seem like the kind of person that you would want to participate in some kind of complicated ‘ Manchurian Candidate’ ” spy operation, when “ the guy can’ t actually remember what he’ s likely to say at the end of a sentence. ”
“ That doesn’ t mean that he or she didn’ t want to cooperate, ” Snowden added. “ That doesn’ t mean he wouldn’ to do anything to achieve an advantage. ”
Snowden encouraged people — including home owners leakers in the U. S. authorities — to continue to struggle regarding change.
“ I believe that this world could be better. I believe that this world needs to be better. But it’ s never going to get better unless we make it much better, ” he said. “ Which requires risk. That requires hard work. That will ultimately might require sacrifice. ”
“ Stuff change, ” he went on. “ If they can change for the worse, they could change for the better. If a lot more good people are organizing… if we’ re willing to draw lines that people will not allow people to cross without having moving us out of the way, the pendulum will swing. ”
