Swedish DJ, artist, and manufacturer Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, has died at the age of 28.
“ It is with profound sorrow that individuals announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also called Avicii, ” reads a statement through his representatives .
He had been found dead in Muscat, Oman, on Friday afternoon local period, the statement said.
“ Your family is devastated and we ask everybody to please respect their requirement for privacy in this difficult time. Simply no further statements will be given. ” The statement didn’ t provide a cause of death.
Avicii was reputed for hits like “ Wake Myself Up, ” Hey Brother, ” and “ Levels. ” He was nominated for Grammys for Best Dance Recording in 2011 plus 2012, for the songs “ Levels” and “ Sunshine. ”
The digital dance music superstar shockingly introduced his retirement from music within 2016 by posting a letter on his website that said he required to “ make the change that I’ d been struggling with for a while. ”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avicii have been dealing with health problems “ including acute pancreatitis, in part because of excessive drinking . ” He previously his gallbladder and appendix eliminated in 2014.
Avicii told the particular publication that he felt “ happy” and “ free” after launching his retirement.
“ There are my private life back and concentrating on myself for the first time in a long time, ” he said.
“ It was obviously the hardest decision associated with my life so far. But so far it offers paid off tremendously in terms of well-being for me personally. I’ m happier than I have already been in a very, very long time. Stress-free more than I have already been in a very long time. I can’ big t say I’ m never likely to have a show again. I just don’ t think I’ m likely to go back to the touring life. ”
Avicii was quite philanthropic from the young age, partnering with his manager plus executive producer Ash Pournouri this year to create House for Hunger, the charity dedicated to alleviating global food cravings. House for Hunger gave $1,000,000 to Feeding America and assisted fund Lauren Bush Lauren’ s i9000 The Feed Foundation, which facilitated the submission over 2 million school foods throughout Africa .
