Florida Sheriff Rebukes NRA Spokeswoman Who Claims She’s ‘Fighting’ For Shooting Survivors

During a heated CNN-hosted town corridor event on Wednesday night, Nationwide Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch told survivors of the Parkland, Florida school capturing that she was “ fighting” for them.   Yet Broward County Sheriff Scott His home country of israel was quick to shut the girl down.

Interrupting Loesch’ s reaction to a question about assault weapons, His home country of israel stressed that she was “ not standing up” for survivors of gun violence.

“ I realize that you’ re standing up for your NRA … but you just informed this group of people that you’ lso are standing up for them, ” he mentioned. “ You are not standing up for them unless you say, ‘ I want less weaponry. ’ ”

The sheriff’ t words were met with regards and a standing ovation.

Loesch has been roundly lambasted at the town corridor and on social media for various remarks she made about gun manage, many of which were misleading.

She frequently said that 19-year-old school shooter Nikolas Cruz, who legally purchased an AR-15-style assault rifle   plus additional weapons , should not have been capable of buy the firearm because he was a good “ insane monster” and “ nuts. ”

“ People who are insane should not be able to get firearms, ” Loesch said, echoing a common misunderstanding that mental medical issues are a primary cause of gun assault. Her remark also ignores the truth that the NRA has also vocally advocated against gun bans upon people with mental illness.

Netizens accepted Twitter to challenge her comments.

Loesch was repeatedly booed by audience at the town hall, which includes at this moment when she suggested the fact that legal age to buy a gun must not be raised so young people can secure themselves from sexual assault:

Loesch was also roundly criticized on social networking for suggesting that  “ fully-automatic firearms” existed during the time of the founding fathers.

Responding to a comment created by a grieving mother that the 2nd Amendment was written during a moments of “ muskets” and not the weaponry of today, Loesch responded that “ at the time there were fully-automatic firearms that were accessible , the Belton gun as well as the Puckle gun. ”

Twitter failed to hold back their ridicule.
