A married North Carolina instructor and junior varsity cheerleading trainer was arrested Wednesday after apparently having a sexual relationship with a man student.
Katherine Ross Ridenhour, twenty three, an educator at Cox Generator High School in Concord, N. Chemical., allegedly had a consensual relationship using a 17-year-old male student, FOX46 reported.
The Concord Police Department mentioned Ridenhour and the student had “ inappropriate contact” several times during the last 30 days and a half at the school, FOX46 documented.
Ridenhour was hired by the district within Aug. 2016 as a family customer and science teacher. She retired from her position Tuesday.
The Charlotte Observer reported Ridenhour graduated through Liberty University in 2016.
Ridenhour was charged with two matters of “ indecent liberties having a student, ” police said.
Parents informed FOX46 something needed to be done regarding teachers having inappropriate relationships along with students.
“They have to come up with something more severe and rigid in cases like this. I don’ t understand what, but something needs to be done since it’ s happening everywhere day-to-day, ” Lavonne Strickland, a mother or father of a student at the school, informed FOX46.
Another parent, Daisy Rawlins, stated: “I think it’ s terrible, and I don’ t understand why this particular keeps happening. It’ s becoming reported a lot and I don’ to understand why teachers think it’ h okay to mess around with college students. ”
