Missouri Third-Graders Selling AR-15 Raffle Tickets For Their Baseball Team

Children in a Missouri town can sell raffle tickets offering an AR-15 assault-style rifle as the reward to raise money for their baseball group. The rifle is the same kind of weapon used last week in the Florida college shooting that murdered 17 people.

The raffle premiered before the shooting, but Levi Patterson, the coach of the team within Neosho for boys 9 plus younger, told The Kansas City Superstar   he plans to carry on with the fundraiser.

Patterson said this individual decided to “ turn it into a positive thing ” after “ getting the hate” in the form of angry Facebook posts following the raffle was first reported.

The tool was donated as a prize with a team father and co-founder associated with Neosho gun manufacturer Black Rain Ordnance Inc. , which is currently harrassing a Spec15 AR pistol upon its Facebook page.

Patterson said “ our minds break” for the victims of the capturing at  Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.   But he added that weapon raffles  “ have been going on for a long time. Evil has and will always can be found. ”

Patterson said none of the kids on his team will be forced to market raffle tickets for the weapon in case they’ re uncomfortable doing so.

“ I just think they have feelings for this specific type of gun [that are] different than people around right here do, ” he told the particular Star.

Patterson said supportive contributions have been pouring in as well.

Kansas Republican Tyler Tannahill , who is operating for a congressional seat, and Missouri GOP U. S. Senate applicant Austin Peterson have also been criticized for every offering an  AR-15 giveaway  to attract attention to their campaigns, KMOV-TV documented.

Another gun raffle in The state of michigan has been cancelled, the  Detroit Free Press   reported. The raffle, that was to raise money for the football group of South Lyon High School, furthermore featured an AR-15.
